Buy a Vectra for less than a Corsa

Buyers can drive home a nearly-new Vauxhall Vectra for just £6499 – the same price as a smaller Corsa.

At car supermarket Motorpoint, a 1.8i VVT Life five-door model costs the same as a 1.2i 16v five-door Corsa and there are a good deal of Vectras to choose from for less than £7000. Most were registered in 2008 and come with less than 15,000 miles on the clock.

This time last year, an identical year-old Vectra was worth £9500 but values for the model have dropped £3000 in a year.

The price cut comes after the recent launch of the Vectra's replacement: the all-new Insignia. The sleek model is Vauxhall's new flagship and it has had a negative domino effect across the whole Vectra range by pushing used prices down.

Bargain hunters in need of a comfortable family car can take advantage of some fantastic deals on a used model.

You don't have to go to a Car Supermarket to get a fabulous deal on a Vectra -- simply try your local Main Dealer. Last week we got a 1.8 SRi 5 door Vectra with 15000 miles, 8 months old, with Network Q warranty, and we paid £7200 at a main dealer in SE London. We got a good price on the car we traded too.

They had 8 of then at that price, all ex Avis rental cars I think, and they sold every one of them in days.

We are delighted with the car, and with the service we got from the dealer.
