BMW is launching a major product offensive, offering new engines and equipment in a range of its models in September.

Most notable will be inclusion of the M Sport package for its 5-Series Saloon and Touring models. It features sports suspension, 18-inch lightweight double-spoke alloy wheels and aerodynamic enhancements. Inside the M Sport features sports seats, a leather steering wheel, anthracite roof lining and special detailing. Further options include 19-inch alloys as well as a rear spoiler for the saloon.

Prices, depending on model, range from £31,270 (520d Saloon) to £53,615 (550i Saloon).

The fourth and most powerful diesel version of the new BMW 5 Series - the 294bhp 535d Saloon - will also go on sale in September. It features an all-aluminium 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with a twin turbocharger. Equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Saloon will accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 5.7 seconds and deliver a combined fuel consumption of 46.3mpg.

Completing a full line-up of diesel models will be the BMW 525d Touring. It features a 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder engine plus a single turbocharger. Maximum power is 201bhp and it'll accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 7.3 seconds with an average fuel consumption of 44.8mpg.

There's also the inclusion of the BMW 528i Touring that uses a straight-six petrol engine with a maximum power output of 254bhp at 6,600rpm. It sprints from zero to 62mph in 6.9 seconds, while average fuel consumption is 35.3mpg.

The range-topping BMW X1 xDrive23d is now available with a six-speed manual transmission and BMW is also offering a new equipment package with exclusive colours and materials for its Z4 sports model.

Improved entertainment and communication functions will be added to the range of optional equipment for the BMW 1 and 3-Series ranges along with the X1 and Z4.

Two new Edition models are now available on all BMW 3-Series Saloons and 3-Series Touring models with 320d, 320i, 318d and 318i engines. The Exclusive Edition and Sport Plus Edition models include an array of equipment for £595 more than a standard SE or M Sport model.
