Mercedes-Benz has pushed the performance of its C-Class even further with the introduction of the DR 520 model.

The fastest C-Class available, it is based on the C 63 AMG model but boasts more power and performance. It comes with 520bhp - 60 more than the C 63 AMG - and the saloon will do the 0-62 sprint in 4.1 seconds while the Estate model gets there in 4.2 seconds. Both are limited to a top speed of 187mph.

It comes with the AMG Performance Pack Plus featuring high performance braking system with red callipers, engine upgrades and the AMG carbon fire rear spoiler on saloon models.

On the outside the exclusive model is available with black or white matt paint finish, Titanium finish alloys, matt grille and DR 520 badging.

Inside the seats, dashboard and upper door panels get leather and exclusive Alcantara finished with a red or white contrast stitch, while the steering wheel gets Nappa leather and Alcantara finish.

Unfortunately you will have to be quick to get your hands on one as only 20 will be made and sold from the Specialist Products division at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands.

The DR 520 commands a £9,995 premium over the AMG version with the Saloon priced at £62,430 and Estate at £63,680
