Lexus is promising sharper handling and new high-tech features to go with an all-white interior on its recently revised IS F high performance saloon.

The updated model gets a new limited slip differential as standard and the Japanese manufacturer says this should improve traction and stability in high-speed cornering. In testing the revised car was two seconds faster around the Fuji International Speedway than before.

Performance is unchanged though, with the IS F capable of 0 to 62mph in 4.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 168mph.

A new satellite navigation system, powered by a 40GB hard disc drive (HDD) is included and it provides an on-board sound library function with 10GB of disc space available for owners to store tracks from CDs - enough space for around 2,000 songs.

The tuner in the IS F's 14-speaker surround sound system has been upgraded to receive DAB digital radio and a USB port has been added (in addition to the aux-in jack), to allow for fully integrated connection of MP3 players and iPods.

Buyers can specify new white leather instead of the black interior and mesh-design 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the standard 10-spoke design. Both are no-cost options.

The revised Lexus IS F is on sale now, priced £55,595.
