Nissan's radical new crossover, the Juke, will be available to buy from £12,795 - just £300 more than the level Alfa Romeo Mito, its targeted rival.

Buyers can choose a two- or four-wheel drive Juke with the range-topping all-wheel-drive version priced at £19,995.

The small crossover model will be available with the choice of two engines. There will be a 1.5 dCi version with 117bhp while the 1.6-litre petrol choice will come in 110bhp and range-topping 190bhp power outputs. The 190bhp version is available either in two- or four-wheel drive and buyers can specify CVT transmission.

As with the rest of the Nissan range, there is the choice of Visia, Acenta and Tekna trim levels. Visia models get 16-inch alloys, stability control, six airbags, sports seats and air-con.

Acenta adds 17-inch alloys, climate control, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and Nissan Dynamic Control, which allows the driver to alter drive settings as well as climate control.

Finally, Tekna models get an intelligent key with an engine start button, leather upholstery and Nissan Connect - a sat-nav and audio system with reversing camera. There is also the option of a £300 Sport pack that includes 17-inch Sport alloys, rear privacy glass and premium seat fabric. A £900 Premium Pack gets all this and adds Nissan Connect, reversing camera and six speakers.

The Juke is available to order from June and will be in Nissan showrooms in September.
