Mazda is offering potential customers a new special edition upgrade on selected Mazda 2, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 models.

Named Takura, buyers will get sports styling kit, unique colours and high levels of standard equipment. New versions will be available from July 1, 2010.

The Takura upgrade will be available on the Mazda 2 1.3-litre five-door model and adds 16-inch alloys, sports styling kit - including spoiler, sports bumpers and side skirts - and front fog lights. Inside it comes with black sports trim, trip computer, leather steering wheel and gearknob, steering wheel mounted controls and Bluetooth hands-free kit. The Mazda 2 Takura will cost £11,915.

Mazda 3 Takura models will be available on the 1.6-litre five-door model and cost £15,780. This comes with leather steering wheel and gearknob, automatic dual-zone climate control, black sports interior trim, sports seats, Bluetooth, LED lights, six-disc CD changer and rain sensing wipers.

Finally, the Takura edition is available on three different versions of the Mazda 6; the 2.0-litre hatchback (£19,845), 2.2d 163bhp hatchback (20,495) and the 2.2d 163bhp Estate model (£21,595). All three get 18-inch alloys, sports grille and dusk sensing headlights. Inside buyers get alloy pedals, half-leather heated seats, auto-dimming rear view mirror, dual-zone climate control, leather steering wheel and gearknob and a choice of paint colours.
