An online car broker is offering a ‘buy one car, get one free’ offer for the second time in a month.

Buyers can get two Magentis 2.0i GS Manual with air conditioning, cloth trim and metallic paint for £15,220, or two Magentis 2.0i LS Manual with climate control, leather trim and metallic paint for £16,675.

This time they are giving buyers the choice of two cars for the price of one, one car for half price plus 5 per cent or the opportunity to pick and mix between the two cars. This means you can buy the GS model on its own for £7990 or one LS model for £8755.

Broadspeed.com originally offered the deal on the Dodge Avenger 2.4 SXT. The company received so much demand for the offer their website crashed and they eventually sold-out of the Avenger. This time the company are using the deal to tempt people into buying the Kia Magentis.

The second deal comes as new car sales continued to fall for the sixth month running in October, which has resulted in more and more dealers and supermarkets cutting their prices in an attempt to sell off stock.

Is it really a good deal?

The Magentis is a more sophisticated and cheaper car than some of its rivals like the Dodge Avenger and Chevrolet Epica and while it can match its European and Japanese mainstream competitors for performance, it can’t compete on style.

There are also better deals available. With price cuts continuing you can get more popular models, like the Vauxhall Vectra, for less than the Magentis.

How much is the second car worth?

If you sold the second car today (November 2008), the GS model would get you around £6500 in a private sale while the LS model would get you £1000 more. But with the continuous fall in used car values, you may have to sell for less. Add to this the fact that both models are set to move in to tax band J, taking it to £260 for 12 months, and there isn’t much chance of a profit to be had on selling one on.
