Drivers can get 14 days of free breakdown cover - including home recovery - from TOTAL just by filling up with fuel.

The free policy will cover the car when travelling around the UK as well as if there are any troubles with the car at home. The free offer also includes recovery of the car if the breakdown assistance team can't repair it.

Once the two week offer is over, simply top up with another 30 litres of fuel and the cover can be extended for another 14 days.

After filling up with the sufficient amount of fuel at any TOTAL service station, drivers will be given an activation card. On the back of the activation card is a unique number and all you have to do is text this along with your vehicle registration to TOTAL Assistance.

TOTAL will then confirm the registation and membership policy number back to the customer's mobile phone. The free cover is available on all vehicles up to three and a half tonnes as well as. The offer also applies to motorcycles that need to be filled with just 10 litres of fuel.

Gemma Shepherdson, Brand Manager, TOTAL concluded: "There really are no gimmicks, the TOTAL Assistance breakdown cover is completely free for customers purchasing their fuel from TOTAL.

"With a little bit of forward planning, customers can ensure they are covered for the whole year round."
