The full guide to online car broker, Broadspeed.

1. Where do you source your cars?
All cars are sourced from UK Main Dealers (or UK finance and leasing companies).

2. How are you able to offer such sizeable discounts?
We cut out the showroom margin and salesman’s commission. Many dealers underperform and all have large sales targets to meet: Broadspeed helps them reach those targets. We also enable dealers to order in large batches – which maximizes the discount.

3. Can you specify options, and if you do, does that affect delivery time?
Factory order cars are built to customer’s own specification – ie can be fully personalised.

4. What happens if a customer isn’t happy? Can they return the car and get their money back?
Yes, Broadspeed offers an no-quibble money back guarantee – it’s optional, should something serious goers wrong – ie if the specification is not 100% correct – or the delivery date is delayed by more than 30 days. Every customer is also covered by the distance selling regulations – see link:  (http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf). These regulations provide significantly better consumer protection than ‘face to face’ customers enjoy.

5. Do you offer finance deals?
Yes. We match the cheapest lender or retailer to ready buyers. Sellers can be a motor dealer, a car leasing company, a finance firm or a major bank. We arrange the cheapest finance – whether from a dealer/ manufacturer or from a cheaper independent finance company. We also offer ree finance on more than 50% of the new cars we offer online (Details: 2 Years HP with 50/50 deposit).

9. Do you offer part exchange?
Yes, we offer three PX options: 1) Normal dealer trade in (back-stop), 2) Our motor trader network usually bids much higher prices, 3) We advertise cars online for customers who want even more.

10. What’s the normal sequence of events when someone has seen a car they are interested in on your website?
First step – Broadspeed emails price quote per customer specification. Second – customer asks for dealer introduction. Third – dealer emails quote, then – dealer emails order form. Fourth, customer signs order form, pays credit card deposit to dealer (normally £500 or £1000). Fifth, dealer confirms order is placed. Sixth and once car arrives – there are two payment options: 1) customer inspect & collect at showroom (pays balance to dealer by debit card), 2) doorstep delivery (england max cost £75, sco+wales ranges eg £120 to glasgow – £250 to inverness), customer pays dealer the balance by transfer or debit card – on day prior to delivery. There’s a money-back guarantee if the new car’s specification/ condition is not 100% correct – or the delivery date is delayed by 30 days or more.
