Greenest Peugeots are now blue

  • Blue Lion helps identify Peugeot's greenest cars
  • All models have C02 emissions equal to or lower than 130 g/km
  • Green models cut the cost of motoring

Peugeot is helping car buyers to reduce their ‘carbon tyre print’ with a new brand for its greenest models – Blue Lion.

Look out for green models

It’s been introduced to help identify the greenest models in the Peugeot range – those that consume the least fuel and emit the lowest CO2.

Included are the 107, 207, 207 CC, 207 SW, 308, 308 SW and 1007. All have C02 emissions that are lower than or equal to 130 g/km and are capable of up to 64.2mpg.

It means that when new road tax rules are brought in for 2009, buyers will be able to spot models like the 107, which will cost just £20 per year to tax, more easily.

Green schemes

The company joins the likes of Volkswagen, Ford and SEAT that have all launched their own brands for their greenest models such as: Bluemotion, Econetic and Ecomotive.

Peugeot already has one of the greenest ranges of any car manufacturer:  the 107 currently sits at number six in Parker’s top -10 greenest small cars.

Other small models, such as the 207, 307 and 308 also have green engines that emit under 130 g/km of C02.

The top model in the Parker’s 10 greenest small cars is the Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion, which emits just 99 g/km of C02.

This will still be free to tax in 2009 and 2010. Similarly, SEATs Ecomotive range boasts the eco-friendly Ibiza, also emitting just 99 g/km.
