Plenty of fun and games at the Toyota stand with an electric vehicle, a hybrid, a sports car and some more concepts to gawp at.

First up was the Prius C/Aqua. It’s a compact hybrid city car with a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor. The idea, like all of these things, is to make fuel economy and low emissions the priority. Not much fun.

More interesting, however, was the Fun Vii concept. The owner can change the car’s colour simply by downloading a smartphone application. The interior is also changeable.

Less entertaining, but more relevant, is the all-new Toyota GT 86 coupé. It’s coming to the UK next summer.

If you want one expect to shell out about £28,000. For that you get a 143mph rear-drive sports car that looks the part. It comes with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The Toyota FCV-R fuel-cell concept saloon that uses a high-pressure hydrogen tank and the FT-EV III full compact electric concept were also on show.
