Honda’s stand provided a mix of interesting cars, ranging from prototype 4x4s to a concept supercar.
On display was a new CR-V prototype, alongside a new diesel engine which offers sub-100g/km CO2 emissions.
New versions of the Jazz were also revealed, while the awesome Honda NSX Concept provided the glamour.
Parkers Pick – CR-V prototype
- What is it? It may be a prototype but, by all accounts, the production model will feature very few changes. It’s an off-roader of sorts with plenty of space.
- Vital stats and facts: This preview gives a crystal clear indicator of what the all-new fourth-generation European Honda CR-V will look like when it goes on sale later this year. Visually, it’s more aggressive and it’s got a more raked design to improve aerodynamics.
- Why would you buy it? Honda has a good reliability record, so if you want a stylish, high-riding 4×4 that’s bulletproof this’ll be right up your street.
- Why wouldn’t you? You might be a Audi or BMW purist and stick with the Q3 or X1, or maybe you’ll be a Land Rover Freelander junkie fearing change. Shame, because this stylish new model will be reliable.
- Prices and launch date: Prices should be very close to the current model and it’ll go on sale in Autumn.

Two new Jazz derivatives were also displayed for the first time: the Jazz Si, that goes on sale from Summer 2012, and the Jazz 1.2 that’s available to order in Spring.
There’s also a new 1.6-litre diesel engine that makes its debut in the Civic late in 2012, and it’s claimed to cause the hatchback to emit less than 100g/km of CO2.
