Star of the Nissan stand was an all-new X-Trail 4×4.

Building upon the success of the previous version, the new X-Trail is set to go on sale in July 2014.

It features a plethora of up-to-date technology including LED lighting, a top-class multimedia system with USB, Bluetooth, sat-nav (integrating Google tech) and a seven-inch touchscreen to control it all.

There are also several clever features which enhance practicality, including doors which open super-wide (80 degrees), a powered and remotely operated tailgate and a split boot floor for flexible packaging solutions.

It will employ an advanced four-wheel drive system, but there will also be the opportunity to order a two-wheel drive version for those who don’t need the go-anywhere ability of all-wheel drive. You’ll have the option to select the type of driving mode you’d like too, depending on whether you’re driving on the road, off road or a combination of the two.

You get loads of safety kit as standard, with yet more available on the extensive optional extras list.

We’ve got plenty more information about the new X-Trail in our preview here.

Friend-Me Concept

Joining the new X-Trail on the Nissan stand is the Friend-Me Concept, the Japanese manufacturer’s interpretation of what the car of the future will look like.

Making its European debut, the four-seater saloon concept is powered by a PureDrive hybrid powertrain combining a petrol engine with latest-generation lithium-ion batteries.

New technology featured in the concept includes mobile phone integration that allows passengers to share information, pictures and music. The integrated monitor screens also allow passengers to connect to friends or family members connected over the Internet or in other cars

A customisation programme was also announced at Frankfurt for the Juke, Micra and Note. This includes a number of options to make the car your own, such as varying colour schemes and accessories.
