The 3008 diesel hybrid is likely to be based on the 2.0-litre HDI and Peugeot says plans to be the first car maker to with a production vehicle using this type of powertrain. Peugeot unveiled its hybrid technology at the 2008 Paris Motor Show in the Prologue Hybrid 4 concept car. The concept was powered by a 163bhp 2.0-litre HDI engine and an electric motor capable of 37bhp. Peugeot has also confirmed that it aims to be the first manufacturer with a diesel hybrid in its commercial vehicle range. This is likely to be powered by a 1.6-litre HDI alongside an electric motor.
