  • SUT-1 pick-up unveiled with 2.0-litre diesel engine
  • XIV-1 Concept gets innovative design features
  • Petrol version of Korando also announced

Ssangyong has picked Frankfurt to unveil three new vehicles.

The first is the SUT-1, or Sports Utility Truck.

Powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine making 153bhp and emitting 186g/km CO2, the SUT-1 pick-up is available with rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive, although if you want the latter expect CO2 emissions (and thus VED) to go up significantly. The lowest emitting version will cost you £445 in the first year and £245 per year thereafter. Claimed fuel economy is around 40mpg on the combined cycle.

There will be a choice of manual or automatic six-speed transmissions, leather upholstery and Bluetooth handsfree connectivity.

The second is the XIV-1 concept (pictured), a design which allows the firm's designers to show what they're made of. The innovative opposing doors and creative interior show off aspects of the direction the company may take in years to come.

Finally, the company unveiled a petrol version of its Korando crossover.
