Audi A2 (00-05) - Review

The A2 was quite expensive when it was first launched and equipment levels weren't overly generous. That said, the standard model did come with 15-inch alloy wheels, height and reach adjustable steering, a cassette stereo, electric front windows and door mirrors, ESP stability control, height adjustable front seats, power steering, and remote central locking. SE models add 16-inch alloys, front fog lights, electronic climate control, a luggage compartment cover, leather gear lever and a leather steering wheel. In 2002 the range was updated with new trim levels (as well as a larger fuel tank than before). SE versions gained a CD player and all models got an enhanced speaker system, luggage compartment cover and a space-saver spare wheel. Confusingly though, SE models no longer had climate control, it was made an optional extra on all models. A Sport version was also introduced which came with sports suspension, 17-inch alloys, front sports seats and a three-spoke steering wheel. In 2003 the Colour Storm package was introduced which added special paint (Misano red, Imola yellow or Sprint blue), exclusive upholstery and rubbing strips.
