The Audi A3 is one of the smarter looking medium family hatchbacks and it attracts well-heeled buyers that don't want to draw attention to themselves. It's understated, that's for sure, but its design is in line with newer models like the current A6 and revised A4.

Equipment

There is a wide range of Audi A3 equipment and Audi A3 accessories. The entry level SE trim will make up around 30% of the sales and standard kit includes 16-inch alloys, 5.8-inch entertainment screen with MMI controls, manual air con, a leather four-spoke multi-function steering wheel, driver information system, front centre armrest, and cloth upholstery. Bluetooth, MP3 player connectivity, voice control system and a space saver spare wheel also come as standard on SE but are additional to the kit on the previous-generation A3. Move up to Sport tri - again this should total to around 30% of sales - and you get all of the above plus 17-inch alloys, Audi drive select, dual-zone climate control, comfort seats with sports cloth upholstery, three-spoke sports multi-function steering wheel, driver’s information system, aluminium window trims and interior elements and sports suspension (lowered by 15mm when compared to the normal suspension). The flagship S line trim will have a take up of around 40% of buyers. Standard kit includes 18-inch alloys, S line body styling, spoiler and chrome tailpipe trims, cloth leather seats and S line logo, xenon headlights with LED running lights, S line sports multi-function steering wheel, perforated leather gear knob, illuminated vanity mirrors, brushed aluminium inlays and aluminium door sill trims with S line logo, storage pack and luggage pack. The S line trim level has plenty of distinguishing exterior features to set it apart from the rest of the A3 range. The S line front diffuser and lower bumper give the A3 a menacing and sporty stance, while the no-cost optional sports suspension on this trim has been lowered by 25mm. The rear of the car receives a sporty S line rear spoiler and an S line rear diffuser and chrome tailpipe trims. There are a number of technology packs to add as accessories. The Comfort package has an expected take-up of around 45% and includes rear parking sensors, cruise control, automatic headlights, automatic wipers and an auto dimming rear-view mirror. The technology package has a take up of around 30% and includes MMI navigation Plus and MMI Touch. The xenon light package should have a take up of around 23% and includes xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, rear LED tail lights, adaptive lights and an LED interior pack. Opt for the technology package with Audi Connect and you’ll get MMI navigation Plus, MMI Touch and phone preparation with Audi connect. Around 30 of customers are expected to choose this package.
