BMW 1-Series Convertible (08 on) - Review Review by Dan Harrison on 03 April 2008 Last Updated: 23 February 2009 If you're after a stylish and small convertible, BMW's 1-Series Convertible fits the bill perfectly. You get all the build quality and sophistication you expect from the German make, but in a neat soft-top package. Unlike many convertibles, including the 3-Series, this model sticks with a fabric hood which takes up less boot space when it's folded down. It may not be as quiet or secure as a metal-folding roof, but this 1-Series is still a great all-rounder. Good to drive, refined and classy - an added bonus for owners is that it even ticks a few boxes when it comes to being green and cost effective to run. 4.5 out of 5 Other BMW reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4 out of 5 Audi A3 Cabriolet (08 on) Looks good, great to drive, fast folding roof, top quality interior, four useable seats, cheap to run TDI models Boot is hard to access, base-level models don't get an automatic roof Read full review 4 out of 5 Volkswagen Eos (06 on) Stylish looks, built-in sunroof, superbly built, metal folding roof, excellent refinement, Bluemotion version available Drab cabin design, roof isn't particularly quick to fold down Read full review 3.5 out of 5 Alfa Romeo Spider (07-10) Stunning looks, well equipped, available with an excellent diesel, stylish cabin Lacks refinement, body shake, steering lacks feel and precision, firm ride Read full review Find other convertible cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
