BMW 1-Series Coupé (07 on) - Review

Air conditioning and a six-speed transmission are standard on all six versions of the Coupe. An optional six-speed automatic is available with all engines while a comprehensive safety package includes six airbags and a crash sensor system activating central locking release, hazard lights, fuel cut-off and interior lighting as standard. Stability and traction control are also provided and in addition, there’s a brake force display system, run-flat tyres and the power windows stay slightly open to make door closing easier. The 120dES stands on 16 inch alloys, but 17 inch V-spoke wheels, climate control, fog lights, heated mirrors and washer jets, a central armrest, multi-function steering wheel and a parking distance monitor come with SE trim and M Sport models feature double-spoke wheels, firmer suspension, sports seats, high-gloss exterior trim and anthracite headlining. Sitting on 18 inch M double-spoke wheels, the range-topping 135i has hill start assist, soft stop, brake drying and brake fade compensation, unique aerodynamic packaging, recalibrated suspension, uprated brakes, a rear spoiler and automatic wipers and lights. A wide options list includes MP3 capability, two navigation systems, Bluetooth phone preparation, hi-fi loudspeaker systems, active steering and adaptive headlights. In 2009 a Sport trim was added to the line-up. Available on all four-cylinder models the specification includes 17-inch alloy wheels, front foglights, heated mirrors, sport multi-function leather steering wheel and sports seats.
