The five-door Cruze hatchback is a big indication of the progress the company has made in quality and the brand will be hoping that its introduction will help give the Cruze range broader appeal. It’s arguably more practical and offers a sportier look that the saloon version. With three petrol engines and one diesel engine on offer it should also appeal to both retail and fleet buyers. The engines are relatively frugal and emissions are on par with rivals. The exterior has a look of a BMW 1 Series from the rear while the front of the car has a menacing presence with the two-tier grille. The Cruze competes on price with the Hyundai i30, the Kia c’eed and the Vauxhall Astra and is good value for money. Can the Cruze cut it with more established rivals?
