Overview

Chrysler’s 300C has brought the company huge success in an image-conscious sector thanks to its stand-out styling, generous equipment levels and keen pricing. But if the standard engines leave you wanting more then the SRT-8 could be the answer. Powered by a 6.1-litre V8 with 420bhp it can sprint from 0-62mph in just 5.0 seconds – that’s almost as quick as a BMW M5, while uprated brakes and suspension help keep all the power under control.

But while it’s quick it lacks a little in sophistication and the handling, steering and body control aren’t a match for German super saloons.
