Chrysler Neon (99-03) - Review

Review by Parkers on
A re-skinned version of the 96-99 Neon, with excellent levels of standard equipment, all at a competitive price. The hot Neon R/T looks good and is willing, but the engine feels coarse and strained. Sadly the problems with rear space and the poor ride quality remain. This does not endear it to family buyers.

Buying used

Plenty around. Look at the independents for the best retail deals. Some stocked at Chrysler dealers, but not common in car supermarkets. Real bargains on the private market. Depreciation has made it affordable to most. Check that cheap purchase prices haven't lead to a neglected service history.

Selling

Buyers are drawn to low prices, a roomy interior and good specification list. If you're selling privately, it may take a bit longer to shift Neon than a mainstream model. It's not desirable stock to non-Chrysler dealers, so expect part-exchange values to be low.
