Chrysler Neon (99-03) - Review

A re-skinned version of the 96-99 Neon, with excellent levels of standard equipment, all at a competitive price. The hot Neon R/T looks good and is willing, but the engine feels coarse and strained. Sadly the problems with rear space and the poor ride quality remain. This does not endear it to family buyers.

Equipment

SE has side impact beams, heated electric mirrors, six-speaker RDS radio/cassette, tilt-adjust steering column, 60/40 split-fold rear seat. The LX adds leather upholstery, traction control, cruise control (on the Auto) 15in alloy wheels, front fog lamps, height adjustable driver’s seat, leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, wood trim, height adjustable rear headrests. Uprated R/T (April 2001) has body kit, 16in alloy wheels, twin exhausts, 4-CD autochanger.
