Chrysler Sebring Saloon (07-09) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 23 July 2007 Last Updated: 12 November 2008 Chrysler scored a big hit with the 300C executive saloon and the Sebring is an attempt to recreate that success in the family saloon market. Unfortunately it falls short in nearly every department. Chrysler thinks the Sebring is a rival for the upmarket likes of the Honda Accord, but it's not even up to the quality of much lower priced saloons like the Kia Magentis. It shares its proportions and engines with the cheaper Dodge Avenger and the Sebring is fairly roomy, well equipped and uses a VW diesel. But there's little to recommend it. The quality of the finish and interior materials is poor so it immediately feels cheap, while the driving experience is instantly forgettable. It lacks refinement and noise insulation plus as a new buy it's over-priced. 2 out of 5 Other Chrysler reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 2.5 out of 5 Comfort On smooth surfaces the Sebring is bearable, but at speed there's too much engine and wind noise for it to be relaxing. The seats do feel firm but are reasonably comfortable over long trips, plus there's plenty of space up front. Room in the back is good too, with generous head and leg room for two adults while the rear door pockets are shaped to carry bottles and cupholders are built into the centre armrest. Still it's fairly roomy and a fold-flat front passenger seat provides a handy table as well as working with the 60:40 split-folding rear seats to allow extra-long items to be carried. All doors have big pockets for maps and further items can be carried in a pocket at the back of the driver’s seat. One of the two compartments in the centre console storage bin has a power outlet. The boot isn't particularly wide (and neither is the opening) but there's decent room inside with 385 litres of space - the same as Ford Focus. The electrically adjustable seat and a steering wheel that adjusts for reach and rake means its easy to find comfortable driving position but the quality is awful and there are rough edges and evidence of a poor finish everywhere. The shallow windows and a thick side window pillar can impair over-the-shoulder vision. View full gallery Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
