Chrysler Voyager (01-08) - Review

Review by Simon Harris on
Last Updated: 01 February 2007
Not really clever enough to compete with rivals like the Renault Espace, Citroën C8, Peugeot 807 and the 2006 Ford Galaxy on ability, but prices are lower, and there are some generous discounts on new models. As more people prefer the longer and more practical Grand Voyager, the Voyager range has been simplified, with the V6 petrol dropped, and a choice of SE or LX 2.4 models, a 2.5 CRD manual diesel or if you want an automatic, it's the 2.8 CRD diesel.

Safety

The previous Voyager was crash tested by Euro NCAP in 1999 and performed poorly. This version was tested in early 2007 and fared just as bad with a two star result in an age when four and five stars are the norm. There is said to be "an unacceptably high risk of serious or fatal injury". Side airbags and ABS are standard - as you'd expect from a car of this class. Deadlocks and remote central locking are standard.

Reliability

Owners have reported no major reliability problems and Voyager seems very durable. Our only concern is the quality of the interior - some materials feel a little cheap and some bits of trim feel flimsy for a 'premium' product.
