Citroën Berlingo Multispace (08 on) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 20 June 2008 Last Updated: 17 March 2010 Spacious, practical and brimming with family-friendly features, the Berlingo Multispace is a five-seat people carrier for buyers on a budget. It sits between the cheaper Xsara Picasso and stylish C4 Picasso in the Citroen range but, unlike its predecessor, is no longer based on a van. Instead it uses car underpinnings is comfortable and surprisingly good to drive as a result. Citroën has included even more clever and practical features but although it is more sophisticated than before, some no-frills evidence creeps through in the lower specification models which only have basic safety features. 3.5 out of 5 Other Citroën reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4 out of 5 Comfort The Berlingo's cabin is pleasant thanks to its airy feel while glass roof panels can also be chosen as an option. There's room for five adults to travel in comfort, but air conditioning is optional on all but the range-topping XTR model. Electric front windows are fitted across the range and noise intrusion into the cabin has been greatly reduced compared with the original model. This increases space massively, resulting in a maximum load volume of 3000 litres - effectively turning it into a small van. The rear passenger doors slide open and there are cubbyholes throughout the cabin, while overhead stowage compartments can be specified. The bootlight doubles as a removable rechargeable torch while customers can choose a split opening tailgate, where the window can be opened independently. The interior design isn't the most thrilling around but it's functional and hard-wearing plus all the controls have a chunky, robust feel and the materials seem more upmarket than the previous model. Bright seat fabrics and a large glass area brighten things up and make the cabin feel spacious. View full gallery Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
