Citroën C-Crosser (07 on) - Review Review by Dan Harrison on 06 February 2008 Last Updated: 12 November 2008 The C-Crosser is Citroen's first off roader and it's certainly a good one. Stylish, comfortable inside and good to drive, most models come with seven seats as standard plus there's a superb diesel engine that's smooth, punchy and capable of 40mpg. That said, the C-Crosser isn't really a Citroen at all. It's actually designed and built by Mitsubishi (it sells its own version as the Outlander) and a near-identical version - the 4007 - is also sold by Peugeot. It's also not really an off roader as such - despite its switchable 4x4 system, limited ground clearance means it is far happier on tarmac, helped by a quiet ride and a refined cabin. 4 out of 5 Other Citroën reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4 out of 5 Equipment The C-Crosser is available in three trim levels VTR, VTR+ and Exclusive. The entry-level VTR is only available with the 2.4-litre engine and comes with five seats rather than seven. It comes with steel wheels, electronic stability control, automatic folding, reclining and sliding split rear seats, cruise control, light sensitive headlights, remote central locking, automatic air conditioning, CD stereo and a split tailgate. The VTR+ adds 18-inch alloy wheel, leather steering wheel and gear lever, silver roof rails, a third row of seats, front fog lights and two large gloveboxes. The top of the range Exclusive gets rear privacy glass, chrome exterior trim and side steps, front heated seats, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver's seat, rear parking sensors, a 6-CD autochanger and Xenon headlights. There are few options to choose from, but the one that really stands out is the sat nav system. As well as offering route guidance, it has a built-in reversing camera with guides on the screen to help you park. The other key piece of equipment is a built-in hard drive that can store 2,500 songs.
