Citroën C1 (05 on) - Review Review by David Ross on 15 February 2006 Last Updated: 12 November 2008 The C1 is Citroen's version of the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo. It has different looks front and rear and the specification levels are slightly different, but otherwise it's essentially the same as its counterparts - it's even built in the same factory. Available with three or five doors, it's an excellent small car, with a roomy interior and a pleasant driving experience - although it can be a little noisy on the motorway. Two trim levels are available, Vibe which is the most basic and Rhythm which enjoys a few luxuries, plus there have been several special editions. In addition to the cheap price, Citroën usually has special offers running such as cashback deals. In 2009 the model was slightly facelifted with a tweaked front end plus new wheels and interior trims. The 1.0-litre engine was also improved with lower emissions and better economy. 4 out of 5 Other Citroën reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 3.5 out of 5 Equipment The Vibe trim level is pretty basic, but offers the essentials. You get driver and passenger airbags, ABS brakes with EBD and a stability control system. It also has a height adjustable steering wheel, power steering, CD player (which you can plug your iPod into), and a pollen filter for the cabin. The Rhythm version adds side airbags, electric windows, remote central locking, a rev counter, rear head rests and split folding rear seats. There are side rubbing strips and body coloured mirrors and handles to differentiate it visually from the Vibe. Air con is an option only on the Rhythm. In 2009 the trim line-up was changed to two standard variants - VT and VTR - replacing Vibe and Rhythm respectively, while in January 2010 VTR was replaced by VTR+ which gets part leather upholstery plus a leather steering wheel and gear lever.
