Citroën C2 VTS (04-09) - Review Review by David Ross on 14 November 2008 The VTS is the hot hatch version in the C2 range and, unlike the limited edition GT model, has genuine performance from its 125bhp petrol engine with a 0-62mph time of 8.3 seconds. It's also available with a punchy diesel that's cheap to tax and will return 64mpg. The VTS handles well thanks to the C2's lightweight body plus there's minimal body roll in corners. Unfortunately the light steering lacks feel and detracts somewhat from the driving enjoyment while the vague gearbox is another disappointment. But affordable prices and low running costs make the VTS a good value junior hot hatch. 3 out of 5 Other Citroën reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 2.5 out of 5 Comfort The C2 is really only suitable for two people for the majority of journeys - the two back seats are cramped with very little legroom. In the front comfort is more than acceptable though - head and legroom are pretty good and the sports seats offer good support for longer journeys. View full gallery 2.5 out of 5 Practicality Boot space is extremely limited, especially with the rear seats slid back for maximum legroom but with 193 litres of space, luggage room is on par with similar size cars. The good news is that the C2 VTS, like the rest of the range, features a split tailgate which is handy if you're in a tight car park or have heavy items to load. This Citroen is only available as a three-door however and getting into and out of the back seats is not a particularly easy process. The cabin doesn't feel particularly sophisticated and there are plenty of low rent plastics on show, but the design is neat. There's a large digital speedo, which means you always know the exact speed you're travelling, while the rev counter is a funky-style gauge. The steering wheel adjusts for height only (there's no reach adjustment) so finding a good driving position isn't always easy.
