Daewoo Kalos (03-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Daewoo's supermini is budget transport with all mod cons. It goes head-to-head with Hyundai's Getz and the Nissan Micra in the Value for money stakes. Kalos is attractively packaged, generously equipped and comes with free servicing for three years. The interior lacks the style of its rivals and the drive is lacklustre, but Kalos is hard to overlook if you're looking to make your pound go further.

Safety

No Euro NCAP rating - yet - and it feels lightweight, but there's ABS on all models and most cars get four airbags, three-point seatbelts for all passengers and ISOFIX mountings for child seats. Security measures are an alarm, immobiliser and central locking.

Reliability

Korean cars tend to be durable and Kalos doesn't appear to be any different. But the interior may not stand up to heavy punishment.
