Daewoo Lacetti (04-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
The exotic sounding Lacetti looks attractive - that's mainly due to the input of the famous styling house Italdesign. It is a medium-sized hatchback with a value for money proposition to win over buyers. It's no class leader, but does drive quite nicely and Daewoo's peace of mind package includes free servicing for three years. Definitely worth a look if you aren't passionate about your cars.

Running costs

The free servicing and breakdown cover helps to keep servicing costs reasonable. Insurance fuel and repair costs are nothing to be scared of either. Biggest cost will be the dreaded depreciation.

Emissions summary

Lacetti performs reasonably on the eco front. With an average of 182 g/km CO2 across the range, its emissions are quite low for a small family hatchback. It's worth noting that the line-up does not feature any diesel models, which typically produce less carbon dioxide than petrol engines with similar power outputs. The range is not particularly economical, averaging 37 mpg.
