Daihatsu Sirion (98-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Oddball retro looks shouldn't put you off this well-equipped and well-built supermini. Prices start at reasonable prices and most cars have electric windows, ABS, air-con (apart from base EL model), and central locking. Quality is reasonable, but there's a lightweight feel.

Comfort

Cars with the 1.0 engine suffer excessive engine and road noise. Seats are quite supportive, but some fabric choices are of questionable taste. It's a bit tight in the back, but five-door configuration makes access easy.

Practicality

Adequate boot space, good levels of head and legroom. No clever storage cubby bins or seat configurations.

Behind the wheel

Driving position is hampered by the steering wheel's lack of adjustment. Dull, black-plastic dominated cabin is livened up with aluminium-look plastic trim. Good pedal position, but too many minor controls in awkward places.
