Daihatsu Sirion (98-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Oddball retro looks shouldn't put you off this well-equipped and well-built supermini. Prices start at reasonable prices and most cars have electric windows, ABS, air-con (apart from base EL model), and central locking. Quality is reasonable, but there's a lightweight feel.

Safety

Seat belt pre-tensioners, twin front airbags, plus side airbags on Sirion+, ABS and Brake Assist on top models. Gained three star Euro NCAP rating in 2000 but doesn't feel as sturdy as Fiesta or Honda Jazz. Only security feature is an immobiliser.

Reliability

Inherits Daihatsu's cast-iron mechanical reliability record. No common faults. Only let down by cheap interior trim.
