Daihatsu Sirion (05-10) - Review

Review by Dan Harrison on

Daihatsu's second-generation Sirion is a deceptively spacious small hatchback, ideally suited to drivers looking for a compact car at an affordable price. There's a more European flavour to this Sirion over the old one - the styling is sharper, the handling has been improved (it's based on the 2006 Toyota Yaris) and it's well packaged inside. What Daihatsu hasn't changed is its value for money. Standard equipment is impressive for such a small car - every Sirion has air conditioning, a CD player and electric windows - and list prices are enticing too.

Buying used

Many used examples are available in the Daihatsu dealer network - all used cars undergo a pre-sale inspection and include a comprehensive after sale warranty package. More and more Sirions are being sold privately, but ensure that you undertake your own car check before parting with your cash.

Selling

Although the Sirion is cheap to run and well equipped, the name isn't familiar to UK buyers, so it may tempt fewer buyers than a Ford Fiesta or Renault Clio. However, price it sensibly to lure buyers and there should be no problems.
