Daihatsu Terios (97-05) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 1997 As a tiny off-roader, the Terios is not really suited to the roads of the UK. It isn't a competent on-road performer like the RAV-4, and yet it can't cope with much more than a muddy track, either. The narrow body and high seating position are useful in town, but it isn't able to deliver much in the way of performance. Perhaps the only thing in its favour is Daihatsu's claim that it has the cleanest emissions of any 4x4. 1.5 out of 5 Other Daihatsu reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 2 out of 5 Safety Feels a bit flimsy, despite all the bodyside mouldings and scuff panels. Driver's airbag is standard. Terios+ adds ABS and a passenger airbag. Has not been Euro NCAP crash tested yet, but conforms to all current safety standards. An immobiliser is standard, but there's no alarm and the immobiliser can be by-passed. Fit Thatcham-approved aftermarket protection to be sure. Some of the interior panels are a little flimsy and scratch easily (especially if you're using it as a workhorse). Owners report very few problems. It's not really up to off-road use, so beware of abused cars. Car check problem points Body Damage from ill-advised off-road usage. Engine/Gearbox Make sure history is complete and up-to-date.
