While the old Ford Focus looked a little uneasy with a boot, it works much better with the new car, lending it the look of a mini Mondeo. Rear looks aside, the saloon does just about everything the hatchback does, meaning it's excellent to drive, roomy and well screwed together. The range of engines is slimmed down, but those that remain are punchy, willing and, in the case of the modern diesels, economical too.
