Honda Accord Saloon (98-03) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 1998 The Accord looks no more adventurous than before, but underneath the sleekly anonymous exterior are sophisticated VTEC engines. The chassis has also been revised, so although only the Type-R looks the part, even the 1.8i is a fine drive. And there are now practical hatchbacks, too. As always, overall quality is superb, and Accord is very competitively priced considering all that it offers. 4 out of 5 Other Honda reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 3 out of 5 Comfort Interior space is only average for a car that's over 15 feet long, although it's better than in the old Accord. Fit and finish are not quite the match of BMW or Mercedes, but it all feels durable and well built. The cabin is well insulated from wind, road and engine noise. 3 out of 5 Practicality The only real area where the hatchback and saloon differ. We'd go for the hatchback, if we had the choice. The saloon looks more purposeful, but the hatch has a more useable load area. Like the hatch, the adequate luggage space is hindered by the suspension turrets that make loading bulky or awkwardly-shaped objects difficult - you've also got to contend with the bootlid, too. A few clever cubbies inside. Get a Honda Accord Saloon valuation How does the boot space compare?
