The latest Civic has broadened Honda’s appeal with younger customers. After 12 months on sale, the 2006 Civic reduced the average age of the Civic buyer by seven years for petrol models and by 10 years for diesel models compared with the previous version. The three-door Type S is expected to reduce this further with its lower suspension, styling kit and sharper handling. The Civic hatchback remains a distinctive alternative, which many people feel comfortable choosing over hatchbacks with more prestigious badges.
