Hyundai Accent (06-09) - Review

Review by Simon Harris on
The Hyundai Accent Atlantic was launched in 2006 as a special edition of the Accent range. However, this Accent was significantly different from previous versions of the car with improved quality, more appealing styling and a new engine. Only one version of the Accent Atlantic is available, and it's a three-door model. Customers had the choice of an optional four-speed automatic transmission and metallic paint as the only extras. Good value, and Hyundai's warranty offers reassurance against faults for five years.

Comfort

The Accent Atlantic has enough room for four adults, and comes with electric front windows and air conditioning. Engine noise is a little intrusive at high revs, but wind noise and road noise are limited at speed.

Practicality

The Accent Atlantic has quite a generous boot at 370 litres up to window height. The rear seats are split and fold forward, increasing the luggage area available. The glove compartment is quite small, although the door bins are generous and are moulded to accommodate cans or bottles at the front.

Behind the wheel

The Accent Atlantic doesn't really do anything on an emotional level when you're sat behind the wheel, but materials feel like they are high quality and the fit and finish is very good. Visibility is pretty good and the driver's seat base is height adjustable. The steering wheel only adjusts for height.
