Hyundai Accent (06-09) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 24 August 2007 The Hyundai Accent Atlantic was launched in 2006 as a special edition of the Accent range. However, this Accent was significantly different from previous versions of the car with improved quality, more appealing styling and a new engine. Only one version of the Accent Atlantic is available, and it's a three-door model. Customers had the choice of an optional four-speed automatic transmission and metallic paint as the only extras. Good value, and Hyundai's warranty offers reassurance against faults for five years. 3.5 out of 5 Other Hyundai reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4 out of 5 Running costs Priced against mainstream small cars when new, customers could choose the automatic transmission for just £800. Relatively low volume, high equipment levels, and a comprehensive five-year warranty means the Accent Atlantic should still be an attractive proposition at three years old, retaining a higher value than many mainstream small cars. 45mpg for the manual and 40mpg for the automatic are also good. Emissions summary Accent performs pretty well on the eco front. With an average of 155 g/km CO2 across the range, its emissions are relatively low for a small family hatchback. It's worth noting that the line-up does not feature any diesel models, which typically produce less carbon dioxide than petrol engines with similar power outputs. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.4-litre petrol, which is one of the greenest models in the range. The range is also fairly economical, averaging 43 mpg.
