Hyundai Amica (06-09) - Review

Review by Ben Wall on
Amica is one of the cheapest cars on sale in the UK, so expectations for comfort and performance shouldn't be too high. But it is easy to drive around town and - thanks to light steering and a tight turning circle - is a doddle to park. Another big benefit, if you buy new, is a five-year warranty. It adds real piece of mind and, considering how cheap the Amica is, makes it exceptionally good value.

Safety

Safety isn't one of Amica's strong points and it lags behind many other, more modern, small cars. It hasn't been crash tested by Euro NCAP and there's only a driver's airbag - poor by today's standards. Seatbelt pretensioners, anti-lock brakes and side impact bars are also fitted, but none of these features are out of the ordinary for a small car.

Reliability

Typically reliable Korean engineering standards ought to ensure that problems are few, and the unlimited mileage, five-year warranty means it'll be a long time before it becomes your problem anyway.
