Jaguar XK8 Coupé (96-05) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 1996 The XK8 may have been on our roads since 1996 but you still give it a look as it goes past, don't you? It's got James Bond looks, with performance to match. Grand Touring ability makes it a pleasure over long distances. The supercharged R version is seriously rapid and makes a good budget alternative to an Aston Martin or a Ferrari GT. Thankfully in the UK it deals just effectively with traffic jams and the golf club car park. An all-new car was launched in 2006. 4 out of 5 Other Jaguar reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4.5 out of 5 Performance If you're buying a newer car, then you're looking at a 4.2 V8 with 300bhp. Alternatively, choose the XKR and the boys at Jaguar will strap a supercharger to it and you can have the full-on 400bhp - smooth and powerful. Automatic transmission is the only choice but that doesn't slow it down and it suits the car. Used buyers get the option of a 4.0 V8, again with a supercharged R version, which was produced until 2002. It has a soft, supple, serene ride and a well-controlled body. The steering can feel a bit remote, but it's always controllable. Grip levels are high and handling is balanced. XKR model features computer controlled suspension for even greater composure. Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
