Kia Carens (00-06) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Carens lags behind its European rivals in nearly every area. But we'd recommend it as a used buy, if you're on a tight budget as it's well equipped, affordable and can seat up to six people.

Comfort

Rev the petrol engine hard and the raucous sound penetrates the cabin, but the diesel unit is even louder. Wind noise and road rumble at higher speeds. Plenty of head and legroom for the front passenger.

Practicality

A useful amount of head and legroom, but not up to standards set by the latest C-MAX, Scenic and Touran. Family-sized boot, but the rear seats can only be folded down - not removed.

Behind the wheel

Despite the steering wheel adjusting for height, the driving position is compromised. The interior looks and feels cheap and some buttons are awkwardly placed.
