Land Rover Range Rover (02 on) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 23 October 2006 Last Updated: 21 February 2011 The Range Rover is an iconic vehicle and one that's highly regarded as combining true luxury with serious off road ability. The latest model is the best exponent of that thinking yet. Inside it's wonderfully upmarket with a modern and stylish cabin that's superbly finished with expensive-feeling materials. On the road it's just as good with a supremely supple ride and excellent noise insulation, while there's acres of space, particularly for passengers in the back. The downside is a hefty price tag and relatively high running costs. But for sheer class and desirability - few cars can match the Range Rover. In 2008 it was improved even further with the introduction of an excellent TDV8 diesel engine while the model was revised in 2009 with improved handling and a more advanced cabin. 4.5 out of 5 Other Land Rover reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4 out of 5 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (06 on) Cavernous interior, extremely comfortable and practicality, superb build quality Huge dimensions make it tricky to manoeuvre, thirsty engines Read full review 4 out of 5 Porsche Cayenne (03-09) Porsche performance and quality, diesel engine available, car-like handling Ungainly styling on pre-facelifted cars, firm ride, expensive running costs Read full review 3.5 out of 5 Toyota Land Cruiser V8 (08-11) Well equipped as standard, unstoppable off-road, superb quality cabin, good body control in bends Noisy engine, vague steering, feels heavy and cumbersome compared to other 4x4s, extra seats don't fold away Read full review Find other 4x4 cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
