Lexus IS Sport Cross (01-05) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 2001 This is an 'I've got an active lifestyle' estate which means a fair bit of the potential practicality has been sacrificed to ensure that you look good when you load you mountain bike into the back; all models come with more standard kit than rivals offer. 3.5 out of 5 Other Lexus reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 2.5 out of 5 Comfort Two adults in the back will be happier than three, because of the transmission tunnel, but three kids should be fine. Those in the front will be fine. Sporting nature of the car means some engine and road noise but this sort of suits it (until you have to do Newbury to Newcastle in one hit). Legroom for rear passengers is a bit tight. 3 out of 5 Practicality The eye-catching Sportcross has a smaller load area than a traditional medium estate but still has a useful amount of space for luggage and shopping. it's designed to be a lifestyle accessory rather than ultimately practical, but it is a significant improvement on the saloon for load carrying potential. It's a question of taste: some see it as sporty and dynamic; others find it overblown and a little tacky. Steering wheel doesn't adjust for reach but most can get comfortable and otherwise the driving position is sporty and comfortable.
