The diminutive Elise is a sensational back-to-basics road racer, providing all-round thrills and really looking the part. A classic in its own time, the magnificently sculpted bonnet and side panels look fantastic - as well as having their aero-dynamic purposes - and due to the Elise’s timeless styling and raw, exhilarating performance there are few rivals to the throne.

Buying used

Check for boy racer abuse and crash damage. A full service history is also vital. Prices are reasonably constant, now that the initial, steepest depreciation has finished.

Popular and highly sought after - prices remain very strong and depreciation slow. However, as with all convertibles, demand slows in the winter.
