The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been the definitive executive choice for the past seven years. BMW almost matches it with the 5-Series, which is as well-built and arguably better to drive. But in a market where conservatism is all, the E-Class whispers, rather than shouts 'success'. This is Mercedes-Benz at its very best; sophisticated, luxurious and desirable. And while there may not quite be an E-Class for everyone, it appeals to a wide spectrum of executive buyers and renders the larger S-Class redundant for all but the fattest of fat cats.
