Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon (95-02) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 1995 The old E-Class was the definitive executive Mercedes for the Nineties and it's still a fine choice. It oozes quality thanks to impeccable construction, silky smooth six-cylinder engines and a luxurious ride. Although it's expensive, E-Class does everything so well that it renders the behemoth S-Class redundant for all but the fattest of fat cats. For pace and grace, our choice would be a E280 Elegance or Avantgarde at half their original price. Later diesels are the best bet for keeping costs down. We recommend the automatic transmission over the manual gearbox. 4 out of 5 Other Mercedes-Benz reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4.5 out of 5 Comfort Plenty of space in the rear for adults and no shortage of head or legroom. It's also a refined environment to travel in and feels very classy. Best in its class for passenger comfort although new model is better still. There are plenty of storage areas up front, too. Get a Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon valuation 4 out of 5 Behind the wheel The cockpit is roomy and the seats are very supportive. High quality materials and attention to ergonomics creates a feel-good factor even when you're stuck in a jam on the M25.
