You can be forgiven for thinking at first glance that the Mitsubishi i is in fact a Smart car. You wouldn't be far off, as the two cars have more in common than just their looks.

Mitsubishi i (07-12)
Cheap to run, low environmental impact, doddle to park, great fun in town
Just one engine choice, unusual styling, uncomfortable on longer journeys

You can be forgiven for thinking at first glance that the Mitsubishi i is in fact a Smart car. You wouldn't be far off, as the two cars have more in common than just their looks. Despite being developed independently of each other, they have similar-size engines, cheeky styling and dinky dimensions. The key difference is that the i is a four-seater, where as the Smart Fortwo is strictly just for two. Just one engine is available and performance is modest but for those that live in the city, the unusually named i is a good choice - nippy, easy to park, cheap to own and fun.

What owners say...

Easy to drive, park, run; plenty of room for four.

Smooth auto transmission, turns like a London taxi and feather-light precise controls. People liken it to a 'tardis' inside compared to the outside!
