Nissan Note (06 on) - Review Review by David Ross on 08 February 2006 Last Updated: 23 February 2011 The Nissan Note gives normal hatchback buyers food for thought. Although it's a similar small people carrier like the Vauxhall Meriva and Renault Modus - and comes with a versatile and family-friendly interior - it's significantly larger but manages to retain the look of a more conventional hatchback. In fact, it's spacious enough and such good value that canny Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra buyers should give it serious consideration too. That's because the Note is a good all-round package. In addition to its exceptionally useful interior, it's fun to drive, well equipped and cheap to run. It was facelifted in January 2009 with tweaked exterior styling and slightly more economical engines. 4 out of 5 Other Nissan reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4 out of 5 Running costs Residual values are in-line with the top performers in this class, such as the Toyota Yaris and ahead of small people carriers like the Vauxhall Meriva. Fuel consumption is good on all engines - especially the diesels - while insurance groups are impressively low - 4 for the 1.4-litre, 5 for the 1.6-litre and 6 for the 1.5-litre dCi. Nissan servicing is good value too, although the dealers don't have the same reputation for customer care as Japanese rival Toyota. * based on most recent data Estimated fuel cost for 10,000 miles per year Unleaded £1,306 - £1,574 * Diesel £957 - £1,165 * The estimated fuel cost figure is a guide to how much this model will cost to fuel each year, so you can compare between cars.
